Stamford Bridge owner ready to splash the cash.
After what has proven to be a disappointing season at Stamford Bridge, Blues owner Roman Abramovich is seemingly in the mood to spend large sums on improving his Chelsea squad this summer.
According to the Daily Mirror the West London side are hot in pursuit of £50m rated Atletico Madrid hot-shot Radamel Falcao and continue to pursue Bayer Leverkusen attacker Andre Schurrle as Abramovich seeks to improve his side’s forward line.
Chelsea will look to use highly rated Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois, currently into his second successful season long loan spell at the Vicente Calderon, as bait in pursuit of goal machine Falcao. Abramovich would presumably then look to offload Fernando Torres, a player who has clearly tried the patience of the Russian billionaire.
Abramovich will then look to use another Belgian international, Kevin De Bruyne, to form part of a deal to complete a deal to sign long term German target Andre Schurrle.
De Bruyne is yet to start a senior game for Chelsea and is enjoying a season on loan at Werder Bremen, where he has attracted the interest of Leverkusen boss Sami Hyypiä. Chelsea hope that an offer of £12m plus the former Racing Genk man will be enough to land £20m rated Schurrle, who has been in excellent form at the BayArena this term.
