Spanish striker wanted in Italy.
Serie A duo Napoli and Fiorentina are in a two-way tussle to sign Fernando Torres from Chelsea this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.
The former Liverpool striker has not reached his best form since moving for £50million from Anfield to Stamford Bridge in 2011, though his improved displays at the end of the season have attracted some attention.
Torres himself has said he wants to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea, though the club already seem to be plotting a number of big-money moves in this summer’s transfer window for stikers to replace the Spaniard.
Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani are said to be the Blues’ main targets, and it’s possible that Napoli may ask for Torres in return for Cavani, who is also wanted by Manchester City and Real Madrid.
With City’s interest, it is also thought that Napoli could make a deal to bring Edin Dzeko to the club, another striker who is out of favour at his current club.
Fiorentina are also keen to land a striker, as they seem set to lose Stevan Jovetic to Arsenal for around £20million, a similar price that Torres could move for.
