Stamford Bridge side keen on Vitesse Arnhem youngster.
Chelsea are reportedly the latest side to take an interest in Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Marco van Ginkel according to the Daily Mail.
The 20 year old is also being scouted by Man United and Norwich City but Chelsea may well have the upper hand in any pursuit of the Dutch international on the grounds that the Stamford Bridge side enjoy a close working relationship with his Eredivisie employers.
That relationship saw Tomas Kalas and Patrick Van Aanholt both loaned out to Vitesse this season and could help Roman Abramovich to land the talented creative midfielder.
Van Ginkel is into his fourth season in the Vitesse first team and this term has been a hugely effective one for the youngster who has scored eight goals and provided another eight assists in domestic top tier action alone.
Van Ginkel’s form earned him his first national team cap last November and he will be representing his Under 21 international side at the European Championships this summer in Israel, an event that could well result in more interest in his services.
Abramovich has been keen to adopt a youthful transfer policy and may feel that £8m is a decent price to pay for a player of Van Ginkel’s potential.
