French club continue their prolific summer spending with double signing.
Monaco are set to continue their lavish summer spending with the announcement of two of La Liga’s biggest names according to Marca.
The provincial French side are splashing the cash in an attempt to compete with PSG on both domestic and European fronts.
Monaco rocked the football world with the announcement that they had signed highly rated Porto pair Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez.
The club are now set to top that with the signings of Barcelona’s Victor Valdes and Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao.
Valdes has made no secret of his desire to leave Barcelona in recent months despite the Catalan giants remaining keen on his services.
He had been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool but it appears he has turned down a move to the Premier League in favour of the Ligue 2 Champions.
But by far the greater coup is the announcement of Atletico’s strike sensation Falcao.
The Colombian forward has been linked with the game’s biggest names in recent months, including the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
That brings Monaco’s owner, Dmitri Rybolovlev’s spending to around £120 million. The Russian tycoon has pledged to invest over £165 million meaning more arrivals are likely.
