Deal still has some way to go.
Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen has insisted that his proposed move to German giants Borussia Dortmund still has some way to go before he signs on the dotted line, Sky Sports reports.
Sources in Denmark suggested this weekend that a deal between the two had already been agreed after months of speculation over his future. Liverpool have also been strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old but he is thought to favour a move to the Bundesliga instead, though he has denied that an agreement is already in place.
“I still haven’t heard anything,” Eriksen told Bold.dk. “I’ve just seen what is in the papers.
“Of course it is pointless if there isn’t any truth to the rumours. But I’ve read a lot, and so far nothing is completely true.
“I’ve said it before that Dortmund is an option that would be good for me, but it is not the only option.”
The Danish international is heading into the final year of his contract at the Amsterdam ArenA and though the club look likely to cash in on him, sporting director Marc Overmars has also denied that a deal with Dortmund is in place.
“Danish newspapers ran numerous stories about a concrete offer, but Dortmund have not contacted us,” he said.
