Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal with Jose Mourinho that will see the outgoing Real Madrid boss re-join the Stamford Bridge side on a four year deal on early next week according to The Sun.

This source states that a deal has officially been agreed and that a four year contract, worth £40m, was signed by the 50 year old Portuguese boss last weekend.

Mourinho has had a problematic three year spell at Real Madrid that has seen the under-fire boss clash with a number of senior players, most notably Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos, as well as draw strong criticism from a large section of the Bernabeu faithful.

Blues fans will no doubt be overjoyed of news of Mourinho’s return, no doubt fondly recalling the three and a bit year spell the former FC Porto and Inter Milan boss enjoyed between 2004 and 2007, during which time the West London side won two Premier League titles and a host of other domestic honours.

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich will be keen to see his side make up ground on Man United and Man City at the top of the Premier League but perhaps as importantly will look to see Mourinho reclaim the Champions League crown Chelsea so meekly failed to defend in 2012/13.
