Stamford Bridge side seal deal to sign German international?
Chelsea have reportedly agreed a £20m deal to sign Andre Schurrle according to the Guardian.
The Blues have been tracking the 22 year old German international for some time, failing with two earlier bids for the Bayer Leverkusen forward, and this source claims that the Bundesliga side have confirmed a deal has been agreed with the Premier League side.
“We have reached an agreement with Chelsea,” Bayer Leverkusen general manager Wolfgang Holzhäuser told the Rheinische Post newspaper.
“They are going to buy André Schürrle for a specific fee and, in return, they will loan De Bruyne to us for a year for free.
“I expect Chelsea to stand by what has been agreed.”
The deal is thought to include a £20m fee as well as the loaning of Belgian attacker Kevin de Bruyne to Bayer Leverkusen for a season, a deal which appears to still be in the balance after the youngster stated his desire to join Borussia Dortmund instead.
Schurrle scored 11 goals and provided seven assists last term to help secure a third place finish for his side, resulting in a coveted spot in the Champions League for next term.
Chelsea could well do with alternative attacking options after Fernando Torres and Demba Ba failed to make a consistent impact in the Premier League, managing ten goals between them.
