Wesley Sneijder is being lined up for a sensational move to the Premier League according to The Sun.

The Dutch playmaker has been identified by new Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as the man to lead his Stamford Bridge side to glory.

Chelsea confirmed the official appointment of Mourinho yesterday with the Portuguese boss immediately being linked with his former player, Sneijder.

The pair know each other from their time at Inter Milan, where they grow close following the club’s Champions League triumph in 2010.

It is not yet clear whether the player’s current club, Galatasaray, will be open to selling Sneijder. The Dutch star only just joined the club in the January transfer window for a fee of £7 million.

But the Dutch playmaker has struggled to settle in Turkey and is already looking for a move away. It is thought that the club could be persuaded to allow Sneijder to leave Istanbul, should they receive a ‘reasonable’ offer for the player.

The 28 year old is thought to be keen to team up with Mourinho as he looks to ensure his place in the Dutch national team for next summer’s World Cup finals tournament in Brazil. While Galatasaray will be playing in next season’s Champions League, Sneijeder reportedly believes he chances of cementing a place in the team would be improved by the addition exposure of Premier League football.
