Belgian youngster has been told he will not be sent out on loan.
Romelu Lukaku is set for a key role in the Chelsea side next season according to The Daily Mail.
Lukaku’s future has been under speculation in recent weeks with a number of clubs keen to take the youngster on loan.
West Brom, where the player has just completed a highly impressive season out on loan, are keen to secure a similar deal for Lukaku for next season.
Sunderland were also thought to be waiting in the wings in case a deal with West Brom to fall through.
But it now appears that Lukaku is set to remain at Stamford Bridge, with new manager Jose Mourinho reportedly ready to offer the Belgian youngster a place in his squad.
Mourinho arrived at Stamford Bridge on Monday from Spanish giants Real Madrid and is already making his preparations for next season.
It has been suggested that the Portuguese boss will not be making wholesale changes of the current squad as he believes the current crop of players has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
That could well involve a more prominent role for Lukakau, who terrorised defences last season for West Brom, and on more than one occasion invoked memories of a certain Didier Drogba.
