French winger Florent Malouda believes that he still has something to offer a top flight club following his release from Chelsea after a nightmare campaign, Sky Sports reports.

The 32-year-old finally ended his six year association with the club this summer after being frozen out during his final 12 months there, failing to make a solitary first-team appearance since the Champions League final in May 2012.

Both Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez left him in the reserves this season but the French international believes that he can still resurrect his career and offer something to top clubs following links to former club Lyon and Italian side Napoli.

“I had great memories from Chelsea, winning the league and the cups,” he said.

“The past year has been difficult for me, but to be honest the positive has been much better than the negative. I enjoyed good times at Chelsea with some great people at the club.

“I will make a choice on my next destination in a couple of weeks, there is some interest which means there are people still interested in me that believe in my football talent. I still have what it takes to play at the top level.”
