Playmaker responds positively to Midlands link.
Montpellier midfielder Younes Belhanda has reaffirmed his desire to play in the Premier League after reports emerged that Aston Villa are interested in signing him, Sky Sports reports.
The 23-year-old has made his desire to play in England known and Arsenal striker, and former teammate, Olivier Giroud recently admitting to urging his pal to join him on these shores.
Montpellier chief Laurent Nicollin has confessed that he is resigned to losing the Moroccan international this summer and has given the player free reign over his decision over where his future lies with the likes of AC Milan, Inter, Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray all reported to have lodged bids in the region of €14million (£11.9m).
North London rivals Spurs and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest but it is now Aston Villa who have stepped ahead in the queue and the midfield ace has responded positively to the link.
“I am definitely aware that there are five clubs with serious interest in me,” said Belhanda. “The president told me how much I will cost for any team that wants me.
“I have told everyone that England will be my first choice.
“Aston Villa is a great club with a big history playing in the best league in the world, so let’s see what will happen.”
