Manchester United won their 20th Premier League title last season but that wasn’t the biggest story at Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson decided to retire at the end of season, meaning this is the first summer without Ferguson in 27 years. Gareth Bale- Tottenham Hotspur
The future of Gareth Bale will probably be the biggest story of the summer. Bale is one of the most highly rated players in Europe following a stunning campaign in which he scored 23 goals for Spurs. The club narrowly missed out on next seasons Champions League and many feel that because of that, Bale will leave White Hart Lane this summer. Manchester United are amongst a number of clubs who have shown interest in Bale and United have a history of signing players with pace and skill. Bale has been compared to a younger Ryan Giggs, who used to terrorise full backs when he played on the left wing. Strong, powerful, skilful and with an eye for goal, Bale is a world class player who would fit in well at Old Trafford. At the moment it looks as if Spanish giants Real Madrid are front runners for the Welshman’s signature but Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle believes that Bale would be better off moving to Old Trafford. Chelsea are also said to be interested in Bale as are Premier League runners-up Manchester City. At the moment it is to tough to tell where Bale will be playing his football next season.
