Daniele De Rossi is the subject of interest from Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.
Italy manager Cesare Prandelli believes that a move for midfielder Danielle De Rossi would be good for the player according to Goal.com.
De Rossi has spent all of his career at Roma and Prandelli thinks it’s time he moved on and tested himself somewhere else.
“Maybe leaving Roma would be a defeat on a personal level for Daniele De Rossi but, professionally, I believe it would be a good thing,” said Prandelli
Reports have suggested that Chelsea have opened talks with Roma about signing the combative central midfielder.
Chelsea’s new manager Jose Mourinho is a known admirer of De Rossi and would look to build a new look midfield around him this summer.
Leaving Roma might be hard for De Rossi, who has made over 400 appearances for the club and scored 47 goals.
He made his debut for Roma in 2001.
De Rossi has been the subject of interest from the Premier League before, with Manchester City said to be close to signing the Italian last summer, before De Rossi had a change of heart and decided to stay at Roma.
It appears now is the right time for De Rossi to move on and test himself in another league and the Italian is a known admirer of the Premier League.
