New Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said at his unveilling on Monday that he is prepared to involve talented youngsters Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne in the first-team next season.

The pair, both Belgian internationals, have impressed for the Blues in loan spells this season, and it was thought that they would be sent out for temporary moves again next year under Mourinho.

De Bruyne, who earned many plaudits during his time at Werder Bremen, has even found himself being linked with permanent moves away, most likely as part of a deal to bring German winger Andre Schurrle to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen. Lukaku, meanwhile, has been linked with a switch to the Bundesliga as well with Borussia Dortmund.

However, according to talkSPORT, Mourinho sees them as ready to slot into the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge.

“First of all I want to meet them but I think both of them are ready to be part of the squad,” he said at his press conference.

Lukaku has drawn comparisons with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, who was a key part of Mourinho’s team in his first spell at Chelsea, and he may see the 20-year-old as the ideal replacement for the Ivory Coast star.
