Exclusive: Arsenal Hope to Sign £56m Quartet by the End of the Week

Emirates Stadium side look to complete deals early in the summer transfer window.

Arsene Wenger is ready to get his summer spending under way and is keen to complete deals to sign a quartet of talents this week having already sewn up his first signing of the transfer window.

Arsenal confirmed the signing of French Under 20 international striker Yaya Sanogo last night and will now push on with efforts to bring in four established talents in the next few days as Wenger seeks to conduct his transfer business early in the transfer window.

Arsenal have reportedly already agreed terms with Gonzalo Higuain and with Carlo Ancelotti sanctioning the sale of the Argentine there seems little in the way of a deal being completed.

Real Madrid are said to have accepted the North London side’s £22m bid for the 25 year old and given that the only other side competing for Higuain’s signature was Serie A title holders Juventus, who then opted to sign Carlos Tevez instead, Wenger will hope to bring in the striker for a medical this week.

Higuain is a proven finisher of the highest order who has racked up 122 goals in 266 appearances for Real Madrid and 20 goals in 32 matches for the Argentine national team.
