Stamford Bridge side welcome in Vitesse Arnhem attacker.
Chelsea have officially confirmed a deal to sign Vitesse Arnhem attacking midfielder Marco Van Ginkel.
The West London side are believed to have paid £8m for the Dutch international, who becomes the second high-profile signing of Jose Mourinho’s returning spell as Blues boss.
The 20 year old flair player enjoyed a great season in the Eredivisie last term and then impressed many with his displays at the European Under 21 Championship finals, which led to a great deal of interest in acquiring his services, with the Blues seemingly leading the chase.
Van Ginkel, who has represented Vitesse since the age of seven, had a standout season in the Eredivisie, scoring eight and providing another eight assists as his side secured their best domestic finish since 1998.
Mourinho has already started the task of making room for new additions by releasing the likes of Yossi Benayoun, Ross Turnbull, Hilario, Florent Malouda and Paulo Ferreira and sold Jeffrey Bruma to PSV Eindhoven whilst also loaning out Thibaut Courtois and Marko Marin to Atletico Madrid and Sevilla respectively.
