Chilean joins fellow youngsters in the Eredivisie.
Chelsea have confirmed that they have loaned their new signing Christian Cuevas to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem for the season, Sky Sports reports.
The West London outfit brought the 18-year-old on board last month in a deal worth £1.5 million from Rancagua in his native country and has immediately been loaned out to the Dutch side in order for him to gain some important first team experience.
Cuevas was a member of the Chilean national side at the recent Under-20 World Cup in Turkey, helping them reach the quarter-final stage.
He will now join fellow Chelsea loanees Patrick Van Aanholt and Gael Kakuta in the side as the link between the two clubs continues to grow. Over the summer Chelsea also saw Marco Van Ginkel move in the opposite direction for a reported fee of £8 million.
Both Van Aanholt and Kakuta have already spent a season with the club, helping them to back-to-back strong finishes in the Dutch top flight.
Cuevas joined the Blues from Chilean club O’Higgins, for whom he made just 10 appearances, but came highly rated.
A statement on Vitesse’s website read: “Cuevas is known as a great talent.
“The left-footed player can operate anywhere along the left side.”
