Talented young French defender Mamadou Sakho has made it clear he is ready to leave PSG having fallen further down the Parc des Prince pecking order according to Le10Sport.
The 23 year old has fallen behind Brazilian trio Alex, Thiago Silva and Marquinhos in Laurent Blanc’s defensive plans and now Sakho is keen to secure an exit from the club he joined as a 12 year old.
The adaptable French international is said to be on the Monaco radar but Liverpool are apparently readying a bid for the player as Brendan Rodgers seeks to strengthen his back-line.
With Jamie Carragher hanging up his boots and with Martin Skrtel strongly linked with a move to join Napoli Rodgers may see Sakho as an ideal summer addition, not least as he can also play at left-back and therefore be able to offer back-up for Jose Enrique.
Rodgers has invested well in new additions this summer and the outlay needed to bring in Kolo Toure, Simon Mignolet, Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto has been covered by the funds accrued from the sales of Jonjo Shelvey and Andy Carroll and as such one would imagine the Liverpool boss has the requisite funds to make a tempting offer to the Ligue 1 title holders.
Sakho has made a total of 196 appearances for his hometown side and has 14 national team caps to his name.
