Palace hoping for free transfer of veteran midfielder.
Crystal Palace are in talks to sign former Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun on a free transfer, according to the Daily Mail.
The 33-year-old was released by Chelsea earlier this summer, and has also represented West Ham and Arsenal in his Premier League career.
The Israeli international tweeted this morning that he was on his way to London, and he is reportedly keen to continue living in the city where his family are settled.
As Benayoun is a free agent, he can still move to a new club after the passing of the summer transfer window deadline, but Eagles manager Ian Holloway will be keen to snap up the veteran midfielder as soon as possible, as his side have endured a difficult start to life in the Premier League.
Palace have managed to bring in the likes of Marouane Chamakh and Jerome Thomas this summer, but are keen to continue strengthening after two defeats in their first two games since achieving promotion from the Championship in May.
Benayoun could be joined by a former Arsenal team-mate of his, as Palace are also making moves to sign controversial striker Nicklas Bendtner from the Gunners.
