Stamford Bridge side take keen interest in Upton Park midfielder.
Chelsea are keeping tabs on in-form West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison with Blues boss Jose Mourinho said to be keen on luring the former Man United man to Stamford Bridge.
CaughtOffside understands that Chelsea have scouted 20 year old Hammers star Morrison on a number of occasions this season and could look to make an offer for the youngster before the Upton Park side can tie the player down to a fresh contract.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has been very impressed with Morrison’s performances this term and has encouraged his board to offer Manchester born starlet a lucrative new deal in an attempt to head off any concrete interest from prospective suitors.
Prior to Morrison’s move to East London then Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was quick to praise the abilities of the former England Under 18 international, stating;
“‘Ravel Morrison’ is a brilliant footballer, Brilliant ability, Top class ability, Needs to get away from Manchester and start a new life”.
Morrison spent last term out on loan at Birmingham City but has impressed since breaking into the West Ham first team, starting six matches in all competitions this term and scoring four goals in the process.
Should Chelsea come calling them West Ham may struggle to prevent Morrison’s head from being turned though a lot could depend on just how much Mourinho is willing to bid for the talented midfielder.
