Out: Demba Ba
Despite a decent showing in Chelsea’s last game against Norwich, Demba Ba does not look like forcing his way into the starting lineup at Chelsea on a regular basis this season, and has generally been a big disappointment since signing from Newcastle last January, scoring only two Premier League goals for the club in sixteen appearances.
The Senegalese international striker had been one of the most prolific forwards in the Premier League during his time at St James’ Park, but he has not as of yet been able to take that form with him to a bigger club, and looks a little out of his depth in a blue shirt. Still, there are several clubs showing a strong interest in his abilities, with Arsenal possibly looking to try for him again after missing out on taking him on loan on transfer deadline day.
More likely, perhaps, is that Chelsea will use Ba as part of a swap deal to land one of their main targets, in what might be a more effective way of dealing with the club’s problems upfront.
