Both Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be keen on the forward.
Tottenham Hotspur are set to reignite their interest in in-form Aston Villa front man Christian Benteke as soon as the winter transfer window reopens for business in the new year, according to exclusive reports in the Daily Star.
The in-demand Belgium international has been the subject of much debate about his future at Villa Park after a summer in which Benteke appeared to be set to quit the west Midlands.
In fact, the north London club even lodged a bid valued at £20 million with Villa for their star man, which was rejected out of hand by the Premier League strugglers, who then managed to convince Benteke to put pen to paper on a new lucrative £40,000-per-week four-year contract with the club in July that ties the 22-year-old to Villa Park until 2017.
However, following the striker’s continued red-hot form in front of goal for Paul Lambert’s men in this campaign – Benteke has managed to net five goals in total in just his seven appearances in all competitions for the Scot so far this season – it is understood that the north London club are now preparing a new £28m offer for the Belgium come the turn of the year.
