The 27 year old Colombian looks set to move to Stamford Bridge after his agent conducted final stage talks with the West London club ahead of a deal that is likely to cost around £33m.

Though both Tottenham and Liverpool are said to be keen on the South American forward a move to Chelsea is now on the cards.

Jose Mourinho could certainly do with a further striking option to help boost his club’s chances of securing the Premier League title. Chelsea have managed 21 goals in 12 Premier League matches but just four of those came from the Blues strike-force, with Samuel Eto’o managing two and Fernando Torres and Andre Schurrle collecting just one goal each in the top tier.

Martinez scored 34 goals in his first season at FC Porto and has already racked up ten in 15 appearances this season, proving his initial success was no flash in the pan.
