The Stade Louis II side would accept £80m for the 27 year old, almost £30m more than AS Monaco paid Atletico Madrid for the striker in the summer, but could be ready to consider offers that would see either Fernando Torres or Demba Ba used in a part-exchange deal.
Both strikers would surely be gladly offloaded by Jose Mourinho in pursuit of the in-form striker, who has netted nine goals in 14 domestic league appearances this term.
Prior to his move to AS Monaco Falcao had been scoring goals for fun at FC Porto and then in La Liga with Atletico Madrid, a move to Chelsea may well tempt the powerful forward.
Jose Mourinho will not be happy with the form shown by his current striking options, who have managed just five goals between them out of the Blues total of 28 Premier League goals this season.
Chelsea currently sit in second spot in the Premier League and Mourinho may feel that the addition of a truly prolific marksman to spearhead his attack would greatly aid the club’s push for major silverware in the first season of his second spell at Stamford Bridge.
