The Blues have been big admirers of the player for a number of years now and even came close to making a move for him before he left for Russia in 2012.

But now, with Jose Mourinho looking to make additions to his forward line, as his current crop continue to misfire, the Brazilian international may finally get his opportunity to run out at Stamford Bridge.

The 27-year-old is known to be unhappy at the club, and has told them that he wants to quit at the end of the season as he looks to test himself in one of Europe’s top leagues.

And the Russian league leaders are thought to be willing to part with the powerful former Porto man, but only if they can guarantee that they will receive a substantial transfer fee for his services.

With Demba Ba set to leave, and Samuel Eto’o not expected to last past his one year contract, Mourinho will step up his search for a new striker as Fernando Torres continues to struggle.
