The Spanish outfit are in the process of being bought by Singaporean Peter Lim and it is understood that one of the first pieces of business that the billionaire wants to do is to lure the prolific Bosnia and Herzegovina international from Eastlands to the Mestalla next month as he targets a return to the Uefa Champions League next season under new head coach Juan Antonio Pizzi.

Dzeko has once again largely been surplus to requirements in the north west under new City manager Manuel Pellegrini, with the experienced Chilean preferring to instead go with Argentina international Sergio Aguero and Spaniard Alvaro Negredo up front.

However, despite the 27-year-old warming the substitutes’ bench for most of this campaign for the mega-rich Premier League club, the 27-year-old has still managed to record an impressive nine strikes and three assists in total in just 21 matches in all competitions for the Blues, including an equally eye-catching three strikes and two assists in only 12 top-flight contests.
