Stamford Bridge side want Napoli ace.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain according to the Daily Star.
The Argentine only moved to the San Paolo over the summer but Mourinho is keen to bring his former Real Madrid charge to Stamford Bridge and will offer Napoli a fee in excess of the £34.5m they paid for the 26 year old back in July.
Chelsea’s current crop of strikers; Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o, have scored just five Premier League goals between them and that lack of a cutting edge up front is in danger of derailing the West London club’s Premier League title challenge.
Mourinho knows Higuain well from his tenure as Real Madrid boss and will look to tempt the lethal finisher into making the move to the English top tier.
Higuain has scored 14 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions this season.
