Southampton are ready to discuss the possibility of selling left-back Luke Shaw to Chelsea according to the Daily Mirror.

The South-Coast side are not keen on selling the 18 year old defender but concede that it is inevitable that they may have to accept the fact that the England Under 21 international will seek a move to a club able to offer him Champions League action.
The St Mary’s side will accept an offer of £8m plus Blues left-back Ryan Bertrand, an offer that Jose Mourinho would presumably jump at given that the financial outlay is well within their budget and the fact that the player exchange involves an individual who has made just one Premier League start this term.
Shaw, who is a Chelsea fan, would act as a long term replacement for England veteran Ashley Cole, who is likely to leave the club in the summer when his contract comes to a close.
Mourinho will have been impressed by the mature displays shown by Shaw, who is a regular in Mauricio Pochettino’s Saints first team set-up.
Southampton have sold a number of big name stars in recent seasons with Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain electing to leave the club for pastures new.
