Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o seems set to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer with a move to former club Real Mallorca on the cards according to the Daily Mail.

The 32 year old only signed a one year deal with the Blues and seems to have his heart set on a move to Spain to rejoin Mallorca, who are now in Spain’s second tier, a club where Eto’o first made his name, scoring 69 goals in four and a half seasons after failing to make the grade at Real Madrid, before heading off to Barcelona.

On his imminent future Eto’o has stated;

“I have signed on at Chelsea for the entire season and will try to enjoy it.

“Later on, I will go to Mallorca.”

Though Eto’o hasn’t been a huge hit at Chelsea his return of eight goals in 11 starts is by some distance better than his fellow strikers Fernando Torres and Demba Ba but it seems his long term future is destined to be away from West London.

Jose Mourinho knows Eto’o well from their shared time at Inter Milan and clearly the Cameroon has been at times in his career arguably one of the best of his generation but is perhaps some way past his best, though clearly his hat-trick against Chelsea proved he can still be a deadly finisher.
