The 20-year-old joined the Blues from Championship side Nottingham Forest in 2012 and has been tipped for a bright future in the game thanks to several successful loan spells away from Stamford Bridge during that time.
He notched up 21 goals in 48 games for MK Dons before leaving to join Derby County during the January transfer window, where he has bagged five goals in his last seven appearances.
However, first team opportunities in West London still look as though they will be hard to come by upon his return and Spurs are ready to step in and hand him a chance to impress in the Premier League.
According to sources close to White Heart Lane, manager Tim Sherwood has identified the young striker as his primary transfer target this summer and would be willing to throw him straight into first team action next season.
But Mourinho is also thought to be a big admirer of his thanks to his ability to effectively manoeuvre around the box and may not be too keen on letting him go just yet.
