Chelsea legend Frank Lampard looks as though he may finally be on his way to the United States to play Major League Soccer this summer as his contract at Stamford Bridge continues to wind down, according to Football Direct News.

The 35-year-old midfielder had been a target for David Beckham’s former side LA Galaxy last year as he found himself in a similar position, and the west coast club had hoped to bring him on board in order to add some serious quality to their ranks.
However, he was offered a one year deal to stay at Stamford Bridge and subsequently stayed put, but that deal is now winding down and there have been no new talks into a further extension.
Several MLS clubs are still believed to be interested in bringing him Stateside, and he may now be on his way as Chelsea continue to bring in more young players to overhaul the playing squad.
Former Chelsea teammate Diddier Drogba is also wanted in the US, with both New York Red Bulls and Seattle Sounders vying for his signature.
