Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has made it clear he wants to sign AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao with a few not so subtle comments about the South American reported by the Daily Mail.

Mourinho has indicated his side needs a fresh striking option, preferably one that knows where the goal is, and having stated that it would be impossible to sign PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic he then singled out Falcao with a few cleverly worded comments, stating;

“I have a team, but no striker. Falcao does not have a team. A player like him can’t play in front of 3,000 people. Monaco is a club to end [your career with].”

The 27 year old Colombian is currently out injured and is fighting to be fit for the 2014 World Cup finals and will certainly be a player Chelsea target this summer.

Despite being apparently unsettled in the principality Falcao netted nine goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances this season before suffering a knee injury.

Prior to his move to AS Monaco Falcao scored regularly at FC Porto and Atletico Madrid.

Mourinho’s current crop of forwards, Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o, have scored just 11 of Chelsea’s 49 Premier League goals this season.
