Premier League giants set to lock horns for French playmaker.
Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are set to battle it out amongst each other for the signature of coveted Marseille starlet Florian Thauvin this summer, according to Inside Futbol.
Tottenham have been keen admirers of the 21-year-old and were linked with a move for his signature during the January transfer window, while Chelsea have also been keeping a close watch on his progress over the course of the campaign too.
And according to speculation in France the Premier League giants have continued scouting him and are preparing to make their own separate moves for the player over the summer.
However, Marseille are hoping to be able to keep hold of the France under-21 international with sporting director Jose Anigo insisting that the club are hoping to build around him.
“There were offers during this [winter] transfer window. But it was nothing. The player stayed here”, Anigo said in February.
“He features in our project for two to three years. He doesn’t plan on leaving at all.”
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has also been credited as a fan of Thauvin too, and once called him ‘one of the great hopes of French football’.
