Stamford Bridge boss has picked between Courtois and Cech.
Jose Mourinho has promised Thibaut Courtois he’ll be Chelsea number one next season after becoming disillusioned with Petr Cech’s form, reports Spanish daily El Confidencial.
Mourinho has reportedly been ‘very unhappy’ with Cech’s displays in the big games this season and views Courtois as a more stable alternative.
The legendary Blues number one was at fault for PSG’s third goal in the 3-1 Champions League quarter-final first leg defeat in Paris on Wednesday, and is now set to be dumped by the club after ten years between the sticks.
Courtois, 21, has spent the past three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid and had been expected to sign a new deal at Chelsea before returning to the Spanish capital for one more season.
But the Belgium international, who has made it clear he will not return to Stamford Bridge to be Cech’s understudy, is now expected to return to West London this summer.
