He has been a key component of their good run this season that has seen them keep up with Juventus and Roma at the top of the table as well as maintain their continued presence in Europe. He had been hoping to make a return to Barcelona this summer after admitting that he would not be turning out for Liverpool again, but thanks to their transfer ban that move won’t happen. Wenger could do a lot worse than a Spanish international that has been in the English top flight for seven years.
