The brilliant Belgium international has been the west London club’s standout performer so far in this campaign, so much so that many experts have even been comparing Hazard of late to the world’s two best players on current form, Barca front man Messi and Los Blancos forward Ronaldo.
However, when asked to say in an interview with Sport which of the two multiple Fifa Ballon d’Or winners he most resembles, the 23-year-old said: “If I had to choose, I’d say my body type and style of playing means I’m closer to Messi.
“Ronaldo is more of an athlete – he’s good at everything. He runs fast, he’s strong. So I would say I’m closer to Messi. But obviously I don’t score as many goals as he does.”
Hazard has so far managed to register an impressive 17 goals and 10 assists in total in his 50 matches in all competitions for both club and country this season.
