Blues boss Mourinho has scouted the 26 year old on a number of occasions this season and hope to tempt the former Bayer Leverkusen man to leave Turin for west London, where no doubt a big pay-rise would be used as an incentive.
Chelsea are willing to entertain the use of Ramires in a swap deal if Antonio Conte prefers such a switch though the Juventus boss may well fight off interest in Vidal, who has become a pivotal member of his squad.
Vidal is into his third season at Juventus and looks certain to clinch a third successive Serie A title and is a player who not only provides a hefty number of assists but also weighs in with a fair few goals to boot, hence the comparison with Lampard.
In 95 Serie A appearances the attacking midfielder has racked up 28 goals and 17 assists.
Juventus’s inability to make a real impact in Champions League action may well be another motivating factor if Vidal was indeed to pursue a move to Chelsea.
