Chelsea have set their sights on Tottenham youngster Christian Eriksen as Jose Mourinho looks to bring further creative midfield options according to Football Direct News.

The Blues would appear to have a host of attack minded midfielders but seemingly Mourinho wants to bring in another who will challenge the likes of Oscar, Eden Hazard, Willian and Mohamed Salah.

Eriksen has been the one success story of Tottenham’s busy time in last summer’s transfer window, and arguably the only one of seven signings made by then manager Andre Villas-Boas that has actually delivered.

The White Hart Lane side would no doubt fight tooth and nail to keep hold of the Danish international but if the former Ajax man has his head turned then they should have a fight on their hands.

Eriksen will be unhappy that his side have failed to secure a Champions League berth next term and that could be an extra motivating factor, as no doubt would be the massive pay-rise Chelsea would no doubt offer the Spurs man.

Tottenham paid just £11m for Eriksen and thus far this season he has weighed in with 10 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
