The 21 year old Belgian may well feel he hasn’t got much of a Blues future having been loaned out for the past two seasons and as such will certainly be considering his options this summer and a move to Anfield could tempt the powerful marksman.

Though Brendan Rodgers clearly has two top class strikers in Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez he arguably has very little in the way of alternative options with the likes of Iago Aspas and Fabio Borini not really up to the task, and Lukaku could feel confident enough to challenge the current Anfield strike pair after two excellent campaigns.

The former Anderlecht man bagged 17 Premier League goals during his spell at West Brom and racked up 15 in 29 starts at Everton this season, more than proving his ability to make an impact at the highest level.

With Chelsea set to welcome in Diego Costa one imagines that Lukaku is still some way down Jose Mourinho’s pecking order and having sold Juan Mata to Man United it appears that the Portuguese boss has no qualms about selling players to direct rivals.
