A shop assistant has been suspended after calling John Terry a ‘pig’ as the Chelsea defender and his wife entered a department store in Kingston upon Thames.

The 33 year old centre-back is then said to have confronted Elisha Ram, the 23 year old assistant, informing her that she should not have made such comments whilst he was with his wife. In the ensuing argument Miss Ram then labelled Terry a ‘disgrace,’

Ram has gone on to state that her perception of Terry had been formed off the back of a number of well known incidents, including his apparent affair with a team-mate’s girlfriend, Vanessa Perroncel.

Terry then demanded to speak to the shop’s manager and as a result the assistant has been suspended pending an investigation.

The shop in question has sent a formal apology to the Blues captain who has recently penned a new one year contract extension after completing an excellent season under returning boss Jose Mourinho.
