Reds are keen to sign a new left-sided full back this summer.
Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers has made Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand his number choice to fill that problem area in defence at Anfield next season, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The Merseyside giants have made the purchase of a new left-sided full back one of their top priorities for when the summer transfer window does finally reopen for business after the long-term knee injury picked up by their first-choice left-back Jose Enrique last season.
And with the Reds having also surprisingly managed to qualify for next season’s Uefa Champions League after a second-place finish in the previous campaign’s Premier League, Rodgers is understood to now want two players for every position at Anfield this summer.
As a result, the Northern Irishman will now look to try to persuade the west London club to part company with their England international, whose current deal at Stamford Bridge runs until June 2017.
And Rodgers is said to be confident that an offer in the region of £7m will be enough to sign Betrand, 24, now that the full back’s six-month loan spell at Aston Villa has come to an end.
