The Milanese side are set to undergo a massive rebuilding project this summer with a new striker to partner Rodrigo Palacio placed firmly at the top of their list.
Palacio was the only Inter player to hit double figures last term and Thohir has made it his priority to bring in another forward with other Premier League hitmen such as Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo and Roberto Soldado all linked.
However, Thohir has reportedly set his sights on Torres and intends to hold discussions with the Stamford Bridge outfit this weekend in order to put the wheels on a sale in motion.
Torres’ struggles since his January 2011 move to Stamford Bridge have been well documented and this year he once again offered a paltry return in the Premier League.
