The Daily Mirror states that the Reds have approached Barca over Pedro’s availability, and have been told that for the right price a deal could be done.
With Anfield forwards Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge each preferring to play as central strikers, a natural wide player could be a great asset to Liverpool, and Pedro’s pedigree would make him a highly exciting signing for either flank.
The 26 year-old has won both World Cup and European Championship with Spain, and his record of 14 goals in 37 international appearances illustrates his clear goal threat.
In 54 matches for Barca last season, he scored 19 goals and provided 13 assists, and given his education at the club’s La Masia academy and in the first team at Camp Nou, he has the potential to dovetail with the dynamic Reds attack in wonderful fashion.
With Liverpool back in the UEFA Champions League this coming season, the capture of Pedro Rodriguez would be a clear show of ambition by Brendan Rodgers and his team.
