Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen to keep hold of the Englishman next season.
Veteran Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is set to find out if he has a future at Stamford Bridge by the end of next week, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.
The experienced England international’s current deal with the west London club runs out at the end of next month and so far there has been no agreement reached between Lampard and his representatives and the Blues hierarchy about extending the player’s 13-year career in the capital.
However, it is now expected that Lampard will sit down with the club for more talks after he returns from England’s recent warm-weather training camp in Portugal, with the Three Lions squad members set to have a two-day break from gearing up for this summer’s Fifa World Cup finals in Brazil at some point next week before they play their first warm-up friendly against Peru at Wembley Stadium on Friday night.
And it is during those expected talks that the midfielder is expected to discover if he will be handed a new 12-month rolling deal in west London next season or not.
