Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing out-of-contract Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole for next season, according to reports in the Mail on Sunday.
The experienced former England international’s current deal with the west London club runs out at the end of June and with the Blues having not offered Cole an extension to his contract at Stamford Bridge, the player is now free to start exploring his options for next season.
And with the north Londoners themselves known to be on the look out at present themselves for a new left back to lure to White Hart Lane this summer, it is understood that the club will now move for Cole.
However, Spurs are not the only club known to be keen on recruiting the 33-year-old, who is said to also have lucrative offers on the table from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and AS Monaco.
And with it also believed that the full back does not want to join one if Chelsea’s main rivals next season, that may very well put an end to any plans that Spurs may have had of signing the player.
