The Belgian international, who scored a hattrick in Monday night’s friendly against minnows Luxembourg, has been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge before the start of next season, with a host of sides interested in the youngster.
Dortmund have recently lost star striker Robert Lewandowski to arch-rivals Bayern Munich, and are thus looking for a replacement for the Polish international. Jurgen Klopp is said to be looking into the possibility of signing Torino’s Ciro Immobile, but the club have earmarked Lukaku as another option should their move for the Italian fail to come uff.
It is likely that any deal struck for the 21-year-old would be as a season long loan, though having spent the past two years with West Brom and Everton respectively, he may feel as though he has done enough to earn a permanent switch somewhere else.
The 21-year-old has scored 18 goals for club and country this season in 38 appearances, an improvement on the 17 in 40 he netted last year, but with Jose Mourinho looking to sign Diego Costa and Mario Mandzukic, Lukaku’s chances at Stamford Bridge could again be limited.
