Former Chelsea star mulls offers for next season.
Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is tempted by an offer to go on loan to Australian side Melbourne City before linking up with MLS side New York City FC, according to the Daily Mail.
The 35-year-old recently announced his departure from Chelsea after thirteen years with the Stamford Bridge club, and will be on the lookout for a new team after playing for England at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
Recent stories have suggested that the veteran midfield player will have an offer from Manchester City’s MLS franchise New York City, but with the league season in the US not starting until next spring, Lampard will be offered the chance to make a loan move to Australia to maintain his match fitness.
The newly-named Melbourne City look to be the favourites to sign the Blues legend, who scored 211 goals for the club before deciding to take on a new challenge for next season.
Lampard is seemingly keen to make the temporary move to the Australian top flight before making his debut for New York City, where he will follow in the footsteps of former Barcelona striker David Villa, who left Atletico Madrid at the end of his contract this summer.
