Top 50 Premier League Transfer Targets: Summer 2014

35. Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid)

One of the brightest prospects at Real Madrid, young striker Alvaro Morata has been the subject of much transfer speculation throughout this season. A move to Serie A could still be on the cards, but Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham could still try their luck with bids to bring him to the English game. Morata managed 9 goals for Real this season, but faces plenty of competition for places at the Bernabeu and may be tempted to move to a club where he would be guaranteed more regular first-team football.

34. Marcos Rojo (Sporting Lisbon)

Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo has certainly made quite an impression in Portugal this season. The versatile Argentine can operate effectively either at centre-back or left-back and has been linked with big names such as Arsenal and Liverpool in recent months as a summer move looks increasingly likely.

33. Yuto Nagatomo (Inter Milan)

Inter Milan left-back Yuto Nagatomo’s fine form in recent times finally looks to have earned him a big move away from the club, with a list of teams reportedly queuing up to sign him this summer. Manchester United have been linked with the talented Japanese international in the past, while Tottenham now look ready to do battle with Spanish giants Real Madrid to snap him up this year. The 27-year-old would no doubt be a fine addition to the Premier League if an English club does manage to win the race for his signature.

32. Paulinho (Tottenham Hotspur)

After a strong first season with Tottenham, Brazilian midfielder Paulinho could now be set for a quick exit from White Hart Lane. The 25-year-old managed eight goals and two assists in all competitions this season, which has seen several top European sides show an interest in his services. However, he could also stay in England if he makes the move to Spurs’ London rivals Chelsea, who have also been linked as admirers of his. Spurs will no doubt be keen to avoid selling one of their best players to another Premier League side, but Paulinho could be keen to become the latest in a strong Brazilian contingent at Stamford Bridge.

31. Adem Ljajic (Roma)

Serbian attacking midfielder Adem Ljajic has long been linked with several teams in the Premier League after establishing himself as one of the top young players in Serie A. Having made the move from Fiorentina to Roma last summer, Ljajic could be on the move again this summer after failing to find his best form at the Stadio Olimpico, though this has not put off big clubs in England. Liverpool and Manchester United have reportedly been placed on alert as the 22-year-old looks likely to be available for a cut-price fee.
