Talismanic forward labelled a doubt for World Cup opener.
Check in to Germany vs Portugal
Portugal were left worrying once again as star man Cristiano Ronaldo limped out of training on Friday afternoon.
The World Player of the Year has been struggling recently with tendinitis around his left knee and he had an ice pack attached to the troublesome area when he cut short his session today.
There were doubts coming from the Portuguese FA earlier this week that the 28-year-old may be forced to sit out of his side’s opening encounter with Germany on Monday.
Ronaldo had featured in the weekend’s 5-1 win over the Republic of Ireland and lasted for 65 minutes before being hauled off.
However, after Thursday’s session Portugal will face an anxious wait to find out whether their best player will be available to take on the Germans next week.
