Liverpool are ready to accept cash-in disgraced striker Luis Suarez with Barcelona to offer the Premier League side £45m plus Chilean Alexis Sanchez in return for the Anfield ace.

CaughtOffside understands that such a deal is amenable to boss Brendan Rodgers, who is keen to bring in 25 year old Nou Camp star Sanchez, though the South American is yet to agree to the move to the Merseyside club.

Incoming Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is keen to conduct a major squad re-shuffle and having already sold Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea is willing to sacrifice in-form Sanchez in pursuit of Suarez.

Liverpool scouts are present at the World Cup and had already identified Sanchez as a potential target regardless of Barcelona’s interest in Suarez but the club’s board have held an emergency crisis meeting following his apparent biting of Italian Giogio Chiellini and are now ready to bid farewell to a player they have defended on numerous occasions during his incident packed time at the club.

Though Sanchez does look set to leave the Catalan club it is worth noting that 2013/14 was his most successful at the club to date, the pacy forward netting an impressive 19 goals from 27 La Liga starts and has continued that fine form during the World Cup finals.

There appears to be sent that Liverpool’s American owners are unwilling to back Suarez again for fear that the could be reputational ramifications by doing so that could lead to issues relating to the marketability of the club as a whole.

Liverpool had been prepared to fight off interest in Suarez following his superb form in 2013/14 but did fear a seemingly inevitable exit if Barcelona or Real Madrid came calling, with the former Ajax man’s contract having a release clause set to a lower rate for non-Premier League sides, and now feel they have no choice other than to secure the best deal possible under the circumstances.
